LinkedIn's AI innovations for users

LinkedIn, the Microsoft-owned social networking platform dedicated to professional connections and recruitment, has reached a remarkable 21-year milestone, a significant duration in the realm of technology. To remain aligned with the prevailing concerns of the professional world and to ensure continued engagement among its nearly 1 billion users, the company is introducing an array of new AI-driven features across its job search, marketing, and sales offerings. These encompass a substantial enhancement to its Recruiter talent acquisition platform, which now integrates AI assistance comprehensively, an AI-fueled LinkedIn Learning coach, and a novel AI-driven tool tailored for marketing campaigns.

The social platform, which reported revenues of $15 billion last year, has been methodically integrating various AI-driven features into its product suite. For instance, in March, it introduced AI-powered writing suggestions for users composing messages on the platform. Additionally, recruiters have witnessed a series of experiments involving AI-generated job descriptions and related functionalities throughout the year. These recent announcements are an extension of these efforts.

To provide some background, LinkedIn is no stranger to the world of artificial intelligence. In fact, it has been a substantial adopter of AI technologies over the years. However, a significant portion of this utilization has operated behind the scenes. Have you ever experienced the platform's seemingly astute connection suggestions that align closely with your interests? That's a manifestation of AI. Similarly, the myriad insights generated by LinkedIn regarding its user community's activities and evolutionary trends also owe their existence to AI.

As of 2018, Deepak Agarwal, a senior engineer who remains with the company, stated that AI plays an integral role in every facet of LinkedIn's operations.

The transformation that we observe today is a reflection of the evolving landscape: AI has transitioned into a prominent focal point, largely propelled by the progress made by OpenAI and the development of services such as ChatGPT. These platforms offer everyday individuals a firsthand encounter with the capabilities of computer-based intelligence, allowing them to accomplish tasks more efficiently than they might have attempted manually.

Another significant shift is the evolving strategy at LinkedIn. Historically, the company invested heavily in developing its own AI tools for a multitude of backend operations. However, LinkedIn, now under Microsoft's ownership, has adopted a more collaborative approach. The company has confirmed its utilization of technology from both OpenAI and Microsoft to fuel various new features.

As you may be aware, OpenAI is currently 49% owned by Microsoft, which made a significant investment of $13 billion in the company earlier this year. This strategic ownership has led Microsoft to integrate OpenAI technology into several of its own products. While Erran Berger, the VP of Engineering, has informed me that the company will continuously assess its technology choices and the possibility of developing its own Large Language Models and other AI solutions, LinkedIn presently plans to leverage the resources of its parent company and its parent's substantial investment.

Let's quickly review all the new additions

LinkedIn introduces Recruiter 2024, an innovative AI-assisted recruitment experience. This platform leverages generative AI to empower recruitment professionals in crafting refined search queries, ultimately yielding stronger candidate selections. Similar to the conversational capabilities demonstrated in searches using ChatGPT, recruiters will now have the flexibility to employ more natural language when specifying their ideal candidates. Additionally, this enhancement broadens search results to encompass suggestions beyond recruiters' initial expectations.

LinkedIn Learning is set to incorporate AI through the introduction of a 'learning coach' implemented as a chatbot. Initially, this coaching feature will provide guidance based on recommendations and insights, primarily focusing on soft skills development. For instance, a user may seek advice on 'How to effectively delegate tasks and responsibilities?' In response, the coach may suggest relevant courses and, significantly, furnish users with valuable information and advice. LinkedIn boasts an extensive library of learning videos encompassing soft skills as well as technical competencies essential for specific job roles. It remains to be seen whether LinkedIn will expand the coaching service to cover technical content as well.

Marketing is set to receive an AI-driven enhancement, particularly through the introduction of a novel product named Accelerate. While marketing and marketers have progressively embraced technical proficiency, this development represents an intriguing shift. The overarching objective is to simplify the process of running campaigns on LinkedIn, effectively reducing the burden of complex tasks. However, it is noteworthy that Accelerate is constrained to campaigns and data confined within the LinkedIn ecosystem. Considering that marketing campaigns often span across diverse platforms and target audiences, users may encounter limitations in the tool's reach and impact.

In conclusion, the realm of Inside Sales and B2B audience engagement is also undergoing AI-driven enhancements. This segment, somewhat nascent on LinkedIn, is where sales professionals, particularly those focused on B2B sales, leverage the platform to identify new prospects and establish more robust connections within their existing networks. The forthcoming AI feature will introduce an advanced search function designed to streamline the discovery of potential connections, facilitating more seamless engagement with these prospects. It's worth noting that AI-powered sales solutions of this nature have gained significant traction in the broader business landscape. Some may argue that this addition has been long-awaited on LinkedIn.

NASA chile scientists comet 3i atlas nickel mystery

NASA and Chilean Scientists Study 3I/ATLAS, A Comet That Breaks the Rules Interstellar visitors are rare guests in our Solar System , but when they appear they often rewrite the rules of astronomy. Such is the case with 3I/ATLAS , a fast-moving object that has left scientists puzzled with its bizarre behaviour. Recent findings from NASA and Chilean researchers reveal that this comet-like body is expelling an unusual plume of nickel — without the iron that typically accompanies it. The discovery challenges conventional wisdom about how comets form and evolve, sparking both excitement and controversy across the scientific community. A Cosmic Outsider: What Is 3I/ATLAS? The object 3I/ATLAS —the third known interstellar traveler after "Oumuamua (2017) and 2I/Borisov (2019) —was first detected in July 2025 by the ATLAS telescope network , which scans he skies for potentially hazardous objects. Earlier images from Chile's Vera C. Rubin Observatory had unknowingly captured it, but ...

bermuda triangle rogue waves mystery solved

Bermuda Triangle Mystery: Scientist Claims Rogue Waves May Explain Vanishing Ships and Aircraft for decades, the Bermuda Triangle has captured the world's imagination, often described as a supernatural hotspot where ships vanish and aircraft disappear without a trace. From ghostly ships adrift to unexplained plane crashes, this stretch of ocean between Bermuda, Puerto Rico and Florida remains one of the most infamous maritime mysteries. But now, Dr. Simon Boxall, an oceanographer at the University of Southampton , suggests the answer may not be extraterrestrial at all. Instead, he argues that the truth lies in rogue waves — giant, unpredictable surges of water capable of swallowing even the largest ships within minutes. The Bermuda Triangle: A Legacy of Fear and Fascination The Bermuda Triangle has inspired decades of speculation , with theories ranging from UFO abductions to interdimensional rifts. Popular culture, documentaries and countless books have kept the legend alive, of...

nist breakthrough particle number concentration formula

NIST Researchers Introduce Breakthrough Formula for Particle Number Concentration Understanding the number of particles in a sample is a fundamental task across multiple scientific fields — from nanotechnology to food science. Scientists use a measure called Particle Number Concentration (PNC) to determine how many particles exist in a given volume, much like counting marbles in a jar. Recently, researchers at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) have developed a novel formula that calculates particle concentrations with unprecedented accuracy. Their work, published in Analytical Chemistry , could significantly improve precision in drug delivery, nanoplastic assessment and monitoring food additives.
